The Seattle Seahawks routed the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium, turning the league's highest-scoring offense into a one-sided showcase for the Legion of Boom. Seattle scored a safety on the opening snap, never trailed, and led 22-0 by halftime. Percy Harvin then returned the second-half kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown to erase any doubt, while Malcolm Smith's interception return helped finish the blowout. Smith took MVP honors, but the night belonged to a Seahawks defense that overwhelmed Peyton Manning from start to finish.
