The New Orleans Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV at Sun Life Stadium to deliver the franchise's first championship and one of the boldest coaching decisions in Super Bowl history. Sean Payton opened the second half with the surprise onside kick the Saints called 'Ambush,' and New Orleans recovered it to seize momentum after trailing 10-6 at halftime. Drew Brees threw for 288 yards and two touchdowns on his way to MVP honors, and Tracy Porter sealed the victory with a 74-yard interception return for a touchdown off Peyton Manning late in the fourth quarter.
